If you want to observe a pack of Sydney chefs and restaurateurs refuelling and caffeinating in their natural habitat, Room 10 in Potts Point is prized turf.

The battle for a table at the cafe on Llankelly Place was competitive before the lockdown, and these days it can be harder to secure a seat than front row at Wimbledon.

But the news for hopefuls just got better, with the Room 10 crew snapping up Orwells, the eatery diagonally across from it. They are reopening Orwells as a pop-up, from Fridays to Sundays.

"It'll be breakfast, lunch and dinner, but [long-term] more like a restaurant at night," a spokesman for Room 10 said.

A redesign is in the works and a proper relaunch scheduled for later in the year.
