The Blue Mountains' kitchen brain drain has turned from a trickle into a gush. First Lee Kwiez departed the hatted Darley's for Canberra, and now there's change in the wind at another Mountains' jewel.

Grant and Rachel Farrant, who had a 10-year run of Good Food Guide hats at Restaurant Como, have sold the Blaxland restaurant. (The awards haul was all the more impressive given the restaurant offered little in the way of a view.)

Como has been snapped up by restaurateurs Jody Noppert and Adam Shaw, who also own Pins On Lurline in Katoomba.

"Our last service is on February 24," Grant says. "A lot of the staff are going to stay, so that'll be the framework. It's then just up to the new owners to keep the attention to detail."

The Farrants are weighing up a number of options, including a possible longer-term move to the south coast.
