A restaurant where a robot cooks your food for you? Well, Sydney, the future is here, kind of.

Last year Good Food revealed a restaurant launch was planned for Darling Square that would use the same robotic wok burner employed in the kitchen of the temporary hospital constructed in just days last year in Wuhan, China.

Robo has opened its doors. It sure looks space-agey, with rocket and astronaut trinkets, red lighting strips and computerised ordering.

There's even a window where you can peek at the robot cooking your food. Through another window you can see a chef actually making the order.

The robot wasn't operating on our visit; it requires a lot of prep work and needs high volume to really crank. So, robots haven't quite overtaken humans – yet.

Open Mon-Thu 11am-9pm; Fri noon-11pm; Sat noon-10pm; Sun noon-9pm.
