What's better than a restaurant with a spin-off bar? A restaurant with two spin-off bars.

Baraki opens today at Alpha restaurant on Castlereagh Street, with chef Peter Conistis explaining the new bar is designed to take pressure off Alpha's Beta Bar and customers annoyed when it is full or booked out for functions.

The bad news is you'll have to get your baklava muffins elsewhere because Alpha's food store has had to make way for the new bar.

"Baraki is inspired by Brettos in Athens," Conistis explains.

And when he say small bar, he means small bar: Baraki has only 10 seats inside.

"And a pretty good ouzo selection," the chef adds.
