With many readers currently house-bound, here are the cheese delivery services that make isolation a whole lot feta.

Mould Cheese Collective

It's more than a cheese delivery service, it's a magazine, a festival (when they're allowed) and a podcast from founder Dan Sims. It's a mould collective. They deliver nationwide and the current box contains treats from Aussie producers Pecora Dairy, The Pines, Nimbin Valley and Section 28.

Cheese Therapy

Is there a better type of therapy, really? This small business, based in far north Queensland, fosters and supports Australian dairies and cheesemakers and ships nationwide. The current Therapy box contains cheeses from Berrys Creek, Kris Lloyd, Maffra, and Prom Country.

Bruny Island Cheese Company

Hot news, fans of Australian raw milk cheese. You can now adopt your very own wheel of cheese. For around $500, this Tasmanian cheese company will store, tend to and mature your wheel of cheese until it comes of age, then ship it anywhere in the country. If this feels a little too much like cheese snuff, you can also order a selection of old favourites and new things cheesemaker Nick Haddow has been working on.

Formaggi Ocello

This little cheese shop with its own maturation room is based in Surry Hills but ships its cheese collection – a mix of European and home-grown varieties – across the country. They also specialise in "cheese cakes" (essentially whole wheels of cheese placed in order of size and decorated with pretty flowers), if anyone out there is planning a post-lockdown wedding, or wants to quietly romance themselves with kilos and kilos of fromage.

Harper and Blohm

Melbourne only

Do you treasure the gooeyness of a Brillat-savarin, or is the insane biteyness of a Quicke's cheddar more your speed? Want to hold your own raclette party in true Swiss style? Or maybe you're all about buying local to support the likes of Pecora Dairy, Shaw River and Millawa?Whatever your speed, cheesemonger Olivia Sutton will deliver, both figuratively and literally, within Melbourne city limits and selected regional areas.

Continental Deli

Sydney only

The cheese selection, either ordered with a cocktail and a chat, or takeaway via delivery app Bopple, is small but perfectly formed.
