After six years in South Yarra, Jason Jones' Parisian bistro Entrecote will relocate to former reception and function centre the Willows on St Kilda Road in March 2020.

The move follows a decision by the Domain Road site's owners, Di and Peter Pausewang, to revert the former Lynch's restaurant into a house. It came as no surprise to Jones.

"Entrecote was only supposed to be a year-long pop-up to see if it worked, and it obviously did," says Jones. "But we've signed a 20-year lease at the Willows, so when we move it will be bigger, better and forever."

An extensive renovation on the Willows will begin almost immediately, transforming it into a 160-seat bistro with a large outdoor terrace and two function rooms. "It'll feel like a Parisian bistro in a neo-Italian classical mansion," says Jones.

It will be business as usual at Entrecote on Domain Road until it closes in March 2020, reopening a day later on St Kilda Road with the same menu, the same staff and even the same playlist.

"It'll be the same old Entrecote in a new home."

Entrecote will reopen at 462 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, in March 2020, entrecote.com.au.
