Expect delays, but Stokehouse owner Frank van Haandel insists Bennelong by Stokehouse will still open at the Opera House.

The original Stokehouse in Melbourne burnt down last month.

"There may be a delay in opening there but it is definitely going ahead,'' van Haandel told Fairfax.

The restaurant was slated to launch in May.

An Opera House spokeswoman said: ''We are working with Frank van Haandel and his team to understand the impact of the fire on the Van Haandel Group and any delay that may result … We understand that Frank's first priority right now is to deal with the aftermath of the fire and re-establish his Melbourne business."
