Sydney's lockdown has been extended, so while we're not going anywhere, let's make the most of the best takeaway and delivery options our restaurants have to offer. Here are a few exciting options to try.

Bentley Group restaurants Monopole, Cirrus and Yellow have launched their "Hats at home" service. Each restaurant will offer one restaurant-quality dinner for two per week – just add a few final touches to pretend you made it yourself. Cirrus' menu includes red fish soup, a salmon and mushroom pie and quince crumble; Yellow's vegan meal includes pressed zucchini and turmeric sauce with fried curry leaves; and Monopole is cooking up a French feast. Speaking of drive-thru – one panini to go, please. Sydney's cafes and restaurants have hit the road again, offering drive-thru snacks and dinners across the city. Pick up Brooklyn Boy Bagels at Marrickville's Black Market Coffee drive-thru or Kepos Street Kitchen in Redfern. The Paddington Inn's Il Baretto restaurant is offering pick-up at its William Street entrance, and Calabria Panineria in the CBD has a VIP parking spot. Sokyo chef Chase Kojima's new high-end food court joint (yes, you read that right) is serving black truffle chutoro ($55) in a beautiful jewel-like box packed with tuna tartare and nicely diced tuna that has been marinated with Senpai's secret sauce and served with Japanese mountain yam puree, pickled daikon radish and shaved black truffle. Not a truffle fan? All four of MILPA's venues (Carbón, Calita, Taqiza and Sonora) have got in on the takeaway action this lockdown but the highlight has to be their fiesta for two to four people ($100-$200), which includes all the trimmings for a perfect Mexican feast including guac, corn, tacos and quesadilla (plus margaritas, of course). For hospo workers

Unfortunately, many hospo staff have been hit hard by the latest lockdown, so a few generous venues have stepped up to provide free or discount meals for those who may not be able to afford it. The Australian Venue Co is providing 2000 "mates bag" for staff and other hospitality workers, which include seven free, fresh meals (plus one dessert) such as beef shepherd's pie, Sri Lankan curry and Thai pumpkin soup. The bag can be claimed via the company's website, and collected from Bungalow 8 at King Street Wharf. Mary's Newtown is also offering a $10 burger and beer for eligible hospo staff (bring your RSA or payslip) during lockdown (text 0435 469 421 for details), while The Taphouse is dishing out free dinners and bourbon shots for all hospo workers, no questions asked. Just ask for a "hospo meal" at the Darlinghurst venue for a house-crumbed chicken schnitzel with gravy, chips and seeded salad, or a vegetarian pasta puttanesca with onion, garlic, chilli, sun-dried tomato, olives, capers and parmesan.
