With 2021 shaping up as a big year for Hellenic food, getting to the Greek (restaurant) is about to be even easier for Sydneysiders.

In May, Peter Conistis will swing open the doors at Ploos, on the water's edge at The Rocks, there's talk of a Greek pop-up in the CBD, and a massive Greek venue is headed to the former home of Stacks Taverna at Darling Quarter.

Veteran Sydney restaurateur and publican Jim Kospetas, who shuttered 1821 restaurant last year, confirmed he'll open a yet-to-be-named Greek venue that incorporates restaurant, bar and lounge into one. When complete, it will be 700 square metres of Mykonos-inspired food and party.

"Michael McCann (Felix, Mr Wong and the newly opened Seta Sydney) is doing the design," says Kospetas. "Mykonos is a passion of his."
