Pop-up on the water

Nab a harbourside seat at chef Matt Moran's newly reopened Opera Bar, which will transform its raw bar into a fun Japanese izakaya this spring. The temaki and sake pop-up is the first in a series, and will serve miso salmon, yuzu kingfish and prawn hand rolls and sashimi alongside sake highballs and sake slushies with bubble tea pearls.

Inner west pickle fest

Get your pickle on at The Oxford Tavern's annual Rise n' Brine Pickle Fest. Held over three days on the October long weekend, the socially distanced event will feature a full pickle-inspired menu including jumbo pickle poppers, reuben spring rolls and Cuban sambos. Expect specialty brews and cocktails, a pickle toss, plus a pickle-eating competition.
