Wilson and Market, the 110-seat brasserie, cafe, provedore and bar opened by chef Paul Wilson in partnership with the Prahran Markets in late 2017, has not reopened after the summer break.

A re-brand and name change has been on the cards since Wilson exited the business in July 2018. After closing for the festive season it was decided to clear to begin 2019 with a clean slate. The new concept is yet to be determined, but the impressive space is due to reopen late March as Gazelle.

Summer claimed other restaurant too. Host Dining, Brunswick's stunning warehouse restaurant and bar has quietly closed, while food truck king Raph Rashid served his last burger from his Beatbox Kitchen outlet on Gertrude Street on February 9, just five months after opening. But a post by Rashid about the closure says he has "new snacks on the way".
