FROZEN yoghurt is all the rage. Keep cool with our picks, all of them natural, low-fat and preservative-free.

Yo-Chi
Open just three months, this hip, high-end yoghurt bar already has a massive following. The yoghurt is all-natural and made on site, with eight flavours and 22 toppings. Choose from honey-soy (for those who are dairy intolerant), passionfruit, chai and the amazingly good coconut – all of it made from real fruit and natural ingredients. Then, top that with choc-coated goji berries, halva, or caramelised pineapple. Pay for your yoghurt by weight – upbeat staff are happy to help. Funky, fun and some of the most gourmet frozen yoghurt around.

Igloo Zoo
There’s a new flavour at snazzy yoghurt bar Igloo Zoo. “Summer berry” – released today – is a vibrant pinky-blue mix flecked with blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. All the yoghurts are fresh, with no artificial flavours or stabilisers, and are suitable for vegetarians. Try flavours such as pomegranate, green tea and coconut, and top them with home-made granola, chocolate-covered goji berries (superfood with flavour), or home-made granola roasted in fresh apple syrup. There are already two Zoos, one in Malvern, the other in Chadstone, with a third shop due to open in St Kilda around Christmas.

Where: 195 Glenferrie Road, Malvern and Chadstone Shopping Centre, Chadstone, 1300 360 881, igloozoo.com.

Cacao Green
Like the “Boost Juice” of the yoghurt world, Cacao Green shops are turning into a hangout for teens. Rock up for organic, gluten-free and natural yoghurt, with no added sugar, flavours, colours or preservatives. Fruity, summer frozen yoghurts of the minute include mango, ginger lemon, blueberry, green tea and pomegranate. Add some mochi (traditional japanese confection made from rice) or some “popping boba”, pearls of tapioca that bubble in your mouth.
