Spanish

In a city full of dark suits, a flamenco dancer holding a leg of jamon certainly stands out. The vibrant mural sets the scene for this part cafe, part delicatessen, part provedore space, breaking the mould for inner-city cafes. Bocadillos (Spanish baguettes) replace stodgy sandwiches, while alfajores (shortbread cookies sandwiched together with dulce de leche) replace your boring old blueberry muffins. The rich piccolo latte ($3), with a short, bitter finish comes from further afield, with darkly roasted Colombian beans from local roasters Calima Coffee. Owners Maria Barona and Pachi Rodriguez also run the popular Encasa restaurant.
