Fog is neither thick nor wet but, at weekends, can be impenetrable. Some say lively, others loud. it's generational. Because Fog, with its slick interior, cool cocktails and American/Tex-Mex tucker, is frequented by the young and fashionable, including celebs so minor they may be recognisable only to each other. You will recognise the food, however. smart, and seamlessly delivered. Jalapeno croquettes are a good place to start, with entry-level chilli providing the gentlest of heat for diners to extinguish in creamy ranch dressing. The crumbing and structure indicates kitchen virtuosity, confirmed by a sturdy little angus rump - perfectly decent, cooked precisely as ordered and supported by great fries, rocket salad and opulent horseradish cream. From the desserts, hazelnut panna cotta is a more stylish choice than banana cream pie with its graham cracker crust.
