This dark and moody den, located in a snaking basement-level room off Russell Place, is decked out with a louche-luxe mix of chandeliers, chaises longues and animal-print drapes. Cosy nooks, cushion-strewn couches and tables a deux are dotted around, catering for couples or groups with ease. Waitstaff take their roles seriously, so you may be pushed to order before you've had a chance to properly peruse the menu. If in doubt, stick to the house speciality: martinis in various guises, such as the 1951, with an anchovy-stuffed olive. Drink-friendly snacks such as grilled chorizo with Dench sourdough are a cut above, too.
