Bondi Beach is Sydney's opening epicentre, with two hospitality venues on the starting grid this week, and a Greek restaurant joining the party next month.

Bondi Public Bar on Campbell Parade is no more. Its owners have swallowed up the space next door, which will reopen on April 15 as the sprawling Topikos Dining Room and Bar.

"Topikos means local," says Brett Robinson, CEO of The Point Group, the team behind glam new CBD rooftop restaurant and bar Shell House.

"There isn't any Greek around here and while there are pubs, outside of the Icebergs Bar there aren't a lot of bars in Bondi where you can go for a drink before or after a meal."

Topikos has snared ex-Bathers Pavilion head chef Charles Woodward to lead the kitchen, with Robinson saying they'll tap his hospitality group's network for talent, including enlisting hatted chef Joel Bickford to help with the menus.

Bondi bar-eatery The Bucket List founder Andy Ruwald is also a partner in Topikos, adding local cred. Long-time Apollo manager Nick Ingall has signed on as restaurant manager, and ex-Totti's GM Danny Webster has also joined the team.

Back from the beach, at the Sevenways development on Glenayr Avenue, the team from Cronulla's Blackwood Pantry open Blackwood Bondi this week.

Its all-day menu is in good hands, with Michelin-star trained chef Rob Lechowicz in the kitchen, and Sepia Restaurant designer Richards Stanisich looking after the venue's interior.

And on Wednesday Bondi welcomes the return of chef Orazio D'Elia, who snapped up the restaurant he put on the map in 2013 before departing the suburb to tackle new projects.

Da Orazio's menu will mix signature dishes from his original tenure (the pizzas were detour-worthy) and some new dishes. The restaurant has had a full makeover and includes a new sidebar, Orazietto.

"Da Orazio was my first born, my first love, so to be able to bring the venue back to life means so much to me and my team," D'Elia says.

Blackwood Bondi will open Mon-Thu 7am-4pm; Fri-Sun 7am-late at shop 3, 87-89 Glenayr Avenue, Bondi Beach, blackwoodhospitality.com.au

Da Orazio will open Sat-Sun lunch; daily 5pm-late at 75-79 Hall Street, Bondi Beach, daorazio.com.au
