The team behind Il Fornaio and Brighton Schoolhouse last week opened the doors on La Formaggeria, their long-awaited wedge-shaped micro cheese lab and produce store in St Kilda.
Co-owner Mark Filippelli says it is ''like Willy Wonka's cheese factory'' with the glass-fronted lab on show. He's enlisted the talents of Italian cheesemaking sisters Katia and Sabrina Cappodocio from Fossanova, south-east of Rome. There's good Clement coffee, specialty teas and a superfoods-studded muesli and juice bar, too.
Open Mon-Fri 7am-8pm; Sat-Sun 8am-7pm.
