Darlinghurst wine bar and restaurant Bar Brosé is closing its doors. Co-owner Ed Loveday made the announcement via social media Thursday morning.

"It is with a deep sadness that I announce the closure of Bar Brosé," said Loveday in an Instagram post.

"I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart all of our staff past and present and our customers for their support. We look forward to continuing to take care of you at ACME and we hope to see you all again soon."

Loveday operates Bar Brosé and Rushcutters Bay restaurant ACME with Mitchell Orr, Cam Fairbairn and Andy Emerson. A spokesperson for the venue declined to comment and the exact closure date is unconfirmed.

Bar Brosé opened on Victoria Street in early 2016 and was awarded a hat in The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide.

Chef Analiese Gregory left Bar Brosé in June to helm the kitchen at Franklin in Hobart. For the past two months, former Yellow and Casoni duo, chef Adam Wolfers and restaurant manager Marc Dempsey, had been serving a modern take on Hungarian Jewish cooking at the site's Etelek pop-up (which is heading to Melbourne this weekend).
