Aashiana

Indian

The good cooking, warm welcome and BYO make this an affordable drawcard for families, who come for dishes such as chicken sagwala- well-executed and avoiding homogeneous gloopy sauce. Fresh herbs are used liberally and there is plenty to excite non-carnivores (the menu, endearingly, offers 'vegetarian galore'), such as the pumpkin (in its skin) masala. Try the tandoori paneer tikka, delivered sizzling on a hotplate, and, if a good measure of a restaurant is the attention to detail, the lemon rice, cooked with mustard seeds, curry leaves, coconut and lemon essence, is exemplary. Too full? Staff will happily pack your leftovers to take away.
