Abbout Falafel House

For a crazy-cheap and table-groaningly generous feast of Levantine magic, Abbout is where it's at. Falafels bat all past memories straight out of the arena and are a perfect trinity of crisp, light and soft. Curate your own flatbread wrap with a splodge of nutty hummus and picks from the gratis plate of colourful pickled vegies, olives and fresh mint. The hearty ful (slow-cooked fava bean dish) is popular with locals at breakfast, and the similarly satisfying fatteh (chickpea stew flecked with fried bread and topped with creamy labna and toasted pinenuts) is another clear winner. Wear loose pants, bring a posse and be prepared to queue.
