French$$

With three of the four Jacques Reymond scions behind Bistro Gitan, you know the fusion of French and Spanish cuisines is going to be a winner. But even if you aren't peckish, this rather dashing space, with its lovely arched windows and French doors overlooking Fawkner Park, is a spiffing place to sink a bottle of wine or two. The list is impressive, hopping gaily from France to Italy and Spain and down under to Australia and New Zealand. A library-like space with an open fireplace to one side is a great spot for a nightcap, and there's a vast pavement umbrella if you want to treat yourself to some bubbles in the sun.
