Breakfast & Beer

Contemporary$$

Snug and rustic, Breakfast & Beer is a cracker. Part cafe, part bistro and mostly bar, with an 80-strong list of local and international brews all matched to the menu. Trust the staff, they know their stuff. The house-made crumpets, already sublime with their melting pools of Myrtleford butter and Des O'Toole's orange blossom honey, team beautifully with a snappy cider like Tasmania's Two Metre Tall Poire, and the gnocchi with wild shot rabbit ragu is a rip-snorter when paired with a bitter hops, such as Boatrocker's Alpha Queen ale. Breakfast and lunch keep within budget for cheap eaters; dinner doesn't. Plonk yourself down and get ruddy-faced.
