Contemporary

The 112 tram terminates at slightly neglected Regent Village, but at weekends Jackson Dodds is packed and pumping. Big communal tables and a coffee machine in the middle of the room will do that. Good Allpress coffee and great breakfasts are the big attractions. Perfectly poached eggs are rolled in dukkah, served with Tunisian-spiced silverbeet and optional chorizo (Meredith goat's feta is a recommended alternative), and haloumi and pea fritters come with bacon and house-made relish. For sweet brunchers, ricotta pancakes with poached pear, pistachio praline and maple whipped butter are worth a trip to the end of the line.
