By placing the bean in one of four jars, customers decide the distribution of Kinfolk's profits between four development projects. Volunteer waiters bustle about the small dining room, its walls lined with eclectic, edgy artwork. The daily menu offers hearty yet clever food- breakfast might be porridge with chai-poached pears, or a toastie with piquillo peppers and manchego. Lunch features seasonal soups and salads as well as sandwiches with interesting fillings like yuzu salted beef. Leave room for cakes by Little Bertha- it's for a good cause, after all.
