Italian

The stark fitout of Ladro Greville bounces high-level hubbub around its whitewashed hard surfaces. Things get a shot of warmth via the casual yet professional service coupled with simple and expertly executed Italian food. Family groups are made especially welcome. There is no doubting that Ladro continues to serve some of this town's best pizza, but a menu detour en route is a must. Kick things off with a beautiful salad, maybe a vividly red, white and green caprese, or something a bit heartier, like creamy white polenta with asparagus, poached egg and pecorino. There's interest aplenty on the specials list: perhaps pizza of truffled salami with taleggio, anchovies and olives, or the roast of the day - perhaps amazingly tender spatchcock from the wood oven on saffron-and-pea risotto. It would be a pity not to order the bomboloni with their vanilla icecream and blood-orange syrup.
