Nabiha

Cafe

Coffee here is a cut above. It's as if the owner's great-aunt Nabiha watches over the baristas via her silhouette on the glass facade. Lebanese and Italian dishes duke it out for attention. Lahm bi ajeen (spiced lamb pizza) is topped with rocket, sumac (purple fairy dust) and a dollop of creamy labna, while panini boast Melbourne's adopted Italian staples- quality prosciutto and provolone. If you're not long up, try grilled eggs or fresh berries on a bed of crunchy cinnamon muesli and yoghurt. Wedged between shopping plazas, Nabiha is incidentally cool, with a refreshing lack of posturing and an eco-design that makes good use of the industrial space.
