Oscar Cooper is helping Greville Street reclaim its title as one of Melbourne's funkiest quarters. Its raw brickwork, solid timber and elegant low-hanging plants are offset by snow-white tiles and a polished concrete floor. It's a great space for breakfasting on thyme-spiked mushrooms paired with smashed avocado, or a crisp roesti supporting two quivering, perfectly poached eggs. At lunch try a lively prawn and tomato spaghettini or moreish pulled pork and apple slaw mini-rolls. An ever-changing list of snazzy, retro jaffles - such as Peking duck - justifies repeat visits. Excellent coffee is sourced from Small Batch and treated with real care.
