Mexican
Like a Mamasita for south-siders, this modern cantina is a fine example of why the city has gone mad for Mexican. No visit would be complete without a taco or six: soft tortillas piled with slow-cooked lamb or pork, crunchy fish and slaws, jazzed up with a mild, moreish house-made habanero salsa. Every dish is on song, including filling pinchos (main meals) such as saucy beef and pork meatballs with lurid green rice, and crowd-pleasing, caramel-heavy desserts. Naturally you can't book, so if you don't arrive early, or late, you're almost sure to be waiting for a table on the pavement.
