Indian$$

Many of the kids who tasted their first Indian dish at Zaika have grown up and now return under their own steam as P-platers for some comfort eating. After a decade the decor's a little tired, but chef Sunny Singh's unchanged menu is all the locals really want. Chicken tikka could be crisper; a better bet is the lamb chops 'a la Zaika'. Youngsters may prefer mild dishes such as butter chicken or hara bara lamb. If you want more fire and complexity, opt for the fish or chicken haryali or Goa curry. Vegetarian options (cauliflower pakora or pumpkin masala) are handled nicely. It's a family affair, with service supervised by Singh's wife, Dimple.
