After a bloody awful year for many Australians, the changing seasons may give us all a lift we badly need. Spring traditionally brings hope, and this year we need that commodity more than ever. From cooler spots in Victoria's north-east, this is a blend of eight varieties from Jo Marsh, led by dolcetto, durif and refosco. Raspberry, plum and savoury herb notes in a light-to-medium weight drop, ripe, zesty, super drinkable. Screw cap; 14 per cent alcohol.

Extraordinary purple colour introduces this springtime red from Margaret River. Cherry and licorice aromas mark a plush, intense wine. While light in feel, its mouth-watering acidity and fine tannins give it real backbone. Screw cap; 14 per cent alcohol.

Vinoque Same Same Pinot Meunier Pinot Noir 2019, $24-$26

A blend of cousins pinot meunier and pinot noir from the Yarra Valley, this ruby coloured light red has a pristine feel with sappy, spicy red berry and plum characters, gluggable texture and balance, ahead of a savoury, dry finish. Screw cap; 13.5 per cent alcohol.
