Sign language will come in handy if you arrive post hump day and the pretty, tree lined beer garden can't be used as it's raining - you might need a megaphone. Out the back is an elegant multi-level dining sanctuary, all swanky with tablecloths, twinkling glassware and one menu. Cheffy technique is exemplary: rabbit rillette, duck and liver parfait, and an innovative vegie switch on the scotch egg are superb. The Angus and bacon burger is juicy and dripping, with a bun warm and soft and licked by flame. You'll dream about the tortellini; silky soft, kissed by crispy sage and brown butter sprinkled with amaretti.
