Modern Australian$$

This shabby chic, streetwise cafe sets up a good challenge to preconceived ideas about designer gym gear-clad Mosman tribes. With its '50s-style lampshade installation and vinyl booth seating, it's more akin to a hip SoHar haunt than anything North of the Harbour. A Double Roasters caffe latte ($3.50) is excellent; full bodied and silky, and the menu takes in French toast, house-made muesli, cured ocean trout with corn fritters, and eggs every which way - perfectly cooked - right through to a tasty roast pork belly sambo that goes down well with a beer. There's potential here for a cool wine and tapas bar at night - how about it, boys?
