Bankstown Hotel

Good Food hat15.5/20

Pub dining$$

With relaxing decor and efficient service, the Bankstown Hotel seems to know this bar and grill game pretty well. The salt-and-pepper squid, served piping hot and accompanied by a tangy, refreshing salsa verde dipping sauce, is a great way to start off a very meaty meal. The rockmelon, feta and prosciutto salad is a meal in itself, and the flavours combine wonderfully. These guys are famous for their steaks: a T-bone (served with broccoli and lovely caramelised sweet potato) is enormous and seasoned to perfection. The harissa-roasted snapper fillet has a good heat to it, was served hot and is plated beautifully.
