Lebanese
The lure of Punchbowl may just lie in Jasmin 1's hummus. It's creamy and smooth, and topped with a rich, spiced lamb mince and pine nuts. Here, Lebanese fare is cheap and plentiful. The mixed plate is a good bit-of-everything option, with a crowd of dips, crunchy falafel, tabbouleh, meat skewers, smoky kofte, grilled chicken and good crisp-shelled kibbeh. Fattouch, Lebanon's other national salad, comes sweet with pomegranate molasses and the unusual but pleasant inclusion of purple cabbage. The space isn't a stunner and can get pretty loud, but as far as the food's concerned, it's all good.
