Le Cafeier

Turkish

The food of Turkey lends itself beautifully to the pointy end of the day. Hence the Turkish-inspired menu at this pretty, white-walled, plant-filled Balmain spot goes beyond your average egg and bacon roll (although they do all the usual suspects as well). Adding feta, tomato, green chilli, za'atar, mint and Turkish bread to a Balmain breakfast is inspired. A lamb mince and sucuk sausage claypot is topped with two perfectly cooked eggs, crumbled feta and finely shredded raw spinach, both hearty and filling. The Toby's Estate caffe latte ($3.70) goes down well, but live dangerously and try one of the Turkish coffees.
