Turkish

A kebab shop. To the uneducated passerby that's all it seems - stainless steel counter, doner meat on sizzling rotisseries. But step through to the bustling rear courtyard and you'll discover the real Sultan's tables. Expect to be seated on a 25-degree incline (watch your wine glass) and the service, while friendly, can be hurried. The mixed dips are essential, if just for the fresh bread, which also earns the pides a win. But nothing beats the diced suckling lamb shish. It's one of the area's later-opening eateries, so you may be lucky enough to leave with armfuls of unsold bread at closing.
