Rebuilt in 1940, the heritage-listed Clarendon's most striking features are its attractive art deco bar and notable menu of Australian craft beers. The pub's extensive menu ranges from basic pizza and pastas to more refined mains served in a lively brasserie with alfresco dining space and beer garden. The daily special of crispy chicken won tons and a barbecued rib rack were lip-smacking good and a notch above typical pub grub. The rump steak, however, was a tad chewy, while sides were somewhat pedestrian. The knowledgeable, young and friendly staff lift the Clarendon to another level.
