Gaggan named Asia's best restaurant 2015

Gaggan contemporary Indian restaurant in Bangkok has taken out the S.Pellegrino Asia's 50 Best Restaurants title for 2015 at an awards ceremony in Singapore overnight.

Australian expat chef David Thompson's Bangkok restaurant Nahm, which topped the 2014 list, dropped to number seven.

Fellow Australian chef Tetsuya Wakuda's Singapore restaurant Waku Ghin came in at number nine, after placing seventh last year.

The awards are an offshoot of the World's 50 Best Restaurants, and are voted for by more than 300 industry experts.
