Le Baroque

12.5/20

French$$$

During the day, Le Baroque is an elegant French tea house with delectable petite pastries, pain au chocolat, French croissants and baguettes but at night chef-Michael Palardis really struts his stuff. Choose the small but elegant ruby-red wallpapered dining room filled with antiques and white linen table cloths, which feels like dining at a posh friend's home, or the more casual outdoor dining option on a covered terrace. Enjoy house-baked bread to start and entrees including light, crisp, battered Mooloolaba prawns, creamy twice-baked three cheese souffle or rich house-made pork rillettes. Daube de boeuf comes with a full flavoured but not overwhelming jus around slow-cooked wagyu beef pieces with tender gnocchi the star. The light roulade of meringue will create dessert envy with its pretty strawberry sauce. There's a small but select wine list and excellent matching recommendations available.
