What's brighter than the pink neon sign at Ms. G's entrance? The megawatts of food energy, in this graffiti-lined, quirkily decorated, multi-tiered space. Asian classics get a dizzying, fun-charged, Momofuku-influenced spin. Once-daggy prawn toast is brilliantly updated with yuzu aioli and a shroud of herbs while excellent banh mi, filled with fried mozzarella or crisp pork, hits blast-off levels thanks to sriracha chilli mayo and pickled vegies. Sweet and sour ribs are a caramelly, napkin-messing joy - a hint of black vinegar beautifully levelling out all that addictive sugar. There are no culinary borderlines: Maggi sauce meets butter in wok-fried mushrooms; bubble tea-inspired cocktails are served alongside biodynamic wines; and breakfast can be ordered for dessert. This fun-first approach - combined with the buzzy atmosphere and eccentric-yet-cool interiors - explains why all five levels of Ms. G's are often packed. The ginger beer granita with lychee jelly, lime curd and chocolate meringue is further good reason.
