A Venetian-style wine bar saluting smoking, salting, pickling, candying and baking the Italian artisan way. After-work aperitivo? Start with a glass of prosecco and mousse-like baccala mantecato. Grazing? Try top-notch cicchetti (snacks) such as arancini, house-cured salumi from the Grossi family’s rare-breed pigs, and spicy ’nduja (meat paste) bruschetta over a craft brew or two. Upstairs tables are perfect for sharing a thin-crust pizza smeared in San Marzano sugo and basil-flecked fior di latte or Sunday’s roast. It’s a lively joint that’s difficult to leave. But when you do, check the counter for salted caramel custard-filled choux balls.
