Generations of kids can feel justifiably aggrieved that over-boiled greens have blinded them to the joys of delicious, flavourful veg. Hit some broccolini with the high heat of a barbecue and it doesn't need much else.
2 bunches broccolini
1 tbsp olive oil
salt, to season
lemon wedges (juice and rind), to serve
1 cup freshly grated pecorino, to serve
freshly ground black pepper, to serve
1. Heat a barbecue grill until very hot. Barbecue the broccolini, drizzling with oil and seasoning with salt until charred and tender, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate, squeeze a little lemon juice on top and grate some lemon rind using a microplane. Finish with a generous amount of grated pecorino and freshly ground black pepper.
