This blood orange granita will go with any fruit, but is particularly fine with strawberries.

Ingredients

  • 6 blood oranges, juiced (about 400ml)

  • 1 lime, juiced, strained

  • 1 small knob of ginger (about 20g), peeled, grated and squeezed to extract juice

  • 4 tbsp castor sugar

  • 250g strawberries, halved

Method

  1. 1. Whisk the blood orange, lime and ginger juices together with the sugar until the sugar dissolves.

    2. Pour the mixture into a shallow metal tray and freeze until firm (about 3 hours).

    3. Remove the tray from freezer and break with a fork to form the granita. Serve immediately, or refreeze until ready to eat. Serve with the halved strawberries.
