2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
60ml (¼ cup) hoisin sauce
3 tsp light soy sauce
3 tsp honey
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp tomato sauce or sweet chilli sauce
2 spring onions, finely sliced
1.5 kg chicken wings
To make the marinade, mix together the garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, tomato sauce and spring onion. Pour over the chicken wings, cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Cook the chicken on a chargrill pan or barbecue grill plate, turning once, for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked and golden brown. Baste with the marinade during cooking. Heat any remaining marinade in a pan until boiling and serve as a sauce.
