Pub dining$$

A dramatic stag antler chandelier lights the main bar, and whether you sit under a stuffed climbing squirrel or the bust of a ram's head, there is seating in every nook and cranny of this historic pub, and it's needed. A trio of mushroom and pinenut arancini balls, house-made pork terrine and spiced chicken wings show great skill in the kitchen with nods to Blighty influence. The lamb Neck and Shoulders Pie is bubbling and rich, while a tumble of hand-cut chips cascades from a little box with the battered fish and crushed peas. Pizzas are popular but with cooking this good why would you?
