Modern Australian$$

The bread is from local hero Iggy's, and the ice-cream freezer stocks small stacks of local Pure Pops. Owners Ed Devlin and Emma Knowles are local heroes of another kind, serving up one of the best cold-drip coffees in town (on ice with vanilla bean syrup and a wedge of lime, $4) to a reggae beat in their '50s-inspired diner. The house blend espresso is a moody dark puddle lurking deliciously in the bottom of the cup ($3), while teas by The Rabbit Hole range from cocoa nibs and peppermint to echinacea. The eggy breakfasts and the burger with beetroot relish and smashed potatoes are rightly famous around these parts.
