Scarborough Hotel

14/20

Contemporary$$$

Sitting high on a cliff with sublime ocean views, the Scarborough is a wonderful place to while away a sunny lunchtime. Arrive early to secure a table on the grass at the edge of the cliff, otherwise hook a table further back, or up on a balcony. Choose the balcony if you don't fancy risking a precariously steep internal staircase while carrying your food and drinks. The menu is relatively small, but there are some light options and a few adventurous items. It can be hit or miss here, but the salt-and-pepper squid with an intriguing crisp Asian coleslaw salad gets a special thumbs-up.
