Anything but 'common', this three-in-one venue just a block from Oxford Street is one of a kind. The 160-year-old building presents as cute garden party out front, alpine ski lodge inside and hidden sandstone bar downstairs. Originally set up as a pop-up venue, it has endured care of the daily seasonal breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. At weekends the vibe is laid-back: coffee and newspapers under a leafy canopy. Sunday roasts with seasonal vegies feature buttery Yorkshire pudding, while an eggy field mushroom tart satisfies for a lighter lunch. The bunker bar serves grown-up snacks and is a cool little spot for after-work drinks.
