The Unicorn Hotel

The Unicorn's Fringe Bar did pub glam well before the likes of The Norfolk and The Carrington. The main bar area is decorated with gilded mirrors, colourful walls and intricate finishings, giving it a theatrical feel. That suits its clientele, which is eastern suburbs glamour meets Surry Hills hipster. The food is tasty, and meals are under $20. Choices range from a healthy(ish) lamb salad to a haloumi burger for the vegetarians, and there's antipasto and dip plates to share. Stop press As we went to press we learned the pub would be undergoing a major renovation, getting a revamped bar menu and be known just as The Unicorn.
