Two Birds One Stone

What else could a South Yarra back street with a high-design apartment block, a Ferrari dealer and a top boys' school need? A suitably zhoozhy cafe wouldn't go amiss. Cue the crew from Abbotsford's Three Bags Full, who have come south with their mix of smart coffee and food: think crispy-creamy salt cod and potato fritters topped with a just-runny poached egg, or a lush, sticky toastie of house-smoked ham hock and Maffra cheddar. The space is schmick, too: they've ditched warehouse postmodernism and gone for a cooler, cleaner design with lots of pale messmate, American oak and white tiled walls.
